Server Log Files
When you visit this website, the hosting provider (Squarespace, Inc.) automatically records technical data in server log files. This data is collected on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the secure and reliable operation of the website). Log files are not merged with other data sources and are deleted after a short retention period.

When you use the contact form on this website, the following personal data is collected and transmitted to me by email:

The data you submit via the contact form is stored only as long as necessary to handle your enquiry and any resulting project. I do not use this data for marketing or pass it to third parties without your consent.
Website Analytics (Squarespace)
This website uses Squarespace's built-in analytics, which provides me with aggregate statistics about visitor numbers, page views, traffic sources, and device types. Squarespace Analytics does not set third-party tracking cookies and does not build individual user profiles. The data is processed in aggregate form and cannot be linked back to any individual visitor.
Squarespace, Inc. (225 Varick Street, New York, NY 10014, USA) acts as my data processor under a Data Processing Agreement. Data may be transferred to the United States; Squarespace participates in the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework and relies on Standard Contractual Clauses as a transfer safeguard. Instagram Link
This site contains a link to my Instagram profile (instagram.com/mzw.photography). Clicking this link will take you to Instagram's platform, operated by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited. From that point, Instagram's own privacy policy applies. I do not embed Instagram content directly on this site, so no data is shared with Instagram or Meta simply by visiting mzw.photography.

German commercial and tax law (§ 257 HGB, § 147 AO) may require me to retain certain business correspondence — including enquiries that led to a booking — for up to ten years. In such cases, access to this data is restricted to what is legally necessary.

You may request your data in a structured, machine-readable format. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests at any time. Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting prior processing. You have the right to complain to a supervisory authority. The competent authority in Germany is the Bundesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit (BfDI).
6. Data Security
This website uses SSL/TLS encryption for all data transfers, as indicated by the padlock icon and the https:// prefix in your browser's address bar. This means data you transmit via the contact form cannot be read by third parties in transit.
Squarespace maintains industry-standard technical and organisational security measures to protect the infrastructure on which this website is hosted.
